Club Captains Report
Hi all, welcome to this week's report.
I hope the season has started well for you all.To start off with the course was yet again in great condition so thanks to the team for that. Special thanks to early bird JR for mowing the greens on Sunday for the Foreman Trophy.Saturday was the Barbara Sharrock Cup, a shared stableford comp.
There were two very good rounds of hot golf and none better from the ladies than Jo Broadmore 45 points, must be close to her best round ...if not so. Then along came a guy that can`t have edged out many putts as he scored his best ever round 47 points, 77 gross, well done Kerry Edgcombe. They both share the cup, well done. Sunday saw the Foreman Trophy and 10 teams took place in great conditions. Special thanks to all who helped on the day and the other clubs that came along.
There were some very good scores with a couple of gross 70s but no one could touch The Arrow, Ivor Sarten, with a great round of 5 under a gross 67 ...pity it wasn't quite good enough to help beat the A team from Manukorihi (Manu 2) who took out the best nett with 415 and pipped Arrow and the boys on 424 . So well done to Paul Fairhurst, Paul Raputu, Nathan Loppy, Robert chop chop Butler, Toko Waitere, and yours truly, Lofty.
Congratulations to all other prize winners on the day and raffle winners as well.
This week we have the first round of the Hone Heke Cup, two rounds of eclectic and the shootout continues.
Sunday sees Pennants at Waitara round one for the men so good golfing everyone.
Your Club captain ...Lofty

PRO – TIP
Having a GOOD BALL POSITION is very important & to achieve it consistently you need a routine. An earlier Pro – Tip explains the Circle/Wheel well, if the ball isn’t at the bottom of your imaginary circle you wouldn’t hit it, & this is the Professional Routine to ensure that you do! Firstly have your feet together & the ball positioned opposite your left big toe. (lefties please do the opposite. Thank you.)
1. Move your left foot out 1 width of a shoe. This stance is for chipping up to 25 metres.
2. Keep your left foot still, now move your right foot 1 width of a shoe. Pitching & short Iron stance. (Wedges, 9, 8, 7, 6.)
3. Again leave your left foot still & move your right foot 1 more shoe width. Irons 5,4,3,2.
4. Left foot still & move the right foot 1 more shoe width. All your long clubs including the “big dog.” This stance will be similar to the width of your walk !! For natural BALANCE !!!
5. Notice that your toes are level, bottom out, chin up, knees flexed all ready TO GO !!!
Good Luck & Good Golfing
