Thanks to Gary Johnson for the good work on the rules again.
Coming up: Saturday 8th August is the Maunkorihi Cup stableford competition.
Make up your fours don’t forget to tee off the first and book in times cheers.

22ND Hidden holes
29TH Captains Choice; Fun day with ONLY 4 CLUBS IN TOTAL ALLOWED, including the putter. Then when you are back in the Club House, we have a sneaky way to draw your partner …this allows a good mix on the day. So blue tees for the blokes and yellow tees for the better halves. Choose your fours and see who your partner will be when your back in. Teams will be added together and results from there cheers. Note JR will need to choose between 75 chippers /13 putters / 4 drivers / and who knows how many iron sets so good luck JR.
REPEATED NOTE: BREAKING NEWS: The KIWI BUTCHER has a date change as the Taranaki 5000 was put on the same date that was the 23rd August. So after some consultation with Taranaki golf we were offered a change of date and this allows the members who wanted to play in the Kiwi Butcher a chance too. Also, those who were torn between the 5000 and the kiwi butcher can now make both as well. We have approx 15 members that have tickets to the 5000 so we felt it was best to change date to Sunday the 13th September for the Kiwi Butcher.
Sorry for any inconvenience but we felt that the club was better off changing the date and ensuring a full field as well as allowing our own members the chance to enter the 5000. Please check club house for new sheet and times for the Kiwi Butcher.
Please with the wet weather can we ALL REPAIR THE PITCH MARKS IN THE GREENS this will help maintain the smooth roll cheers.CART USERS: Please select where you are driving and try to keep away from the boggy spots out on the course please Specially closer to the greens thanks.
Thanks, and good golfing, Your club Captain Lofty
Taranaki Golf AssociationPlease note that the decision has been made to cancel this year’s Top Club Competition due to be held on Sunday 13th September. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. Many Thanks Nick Northam Executive Officer Taranaki Golf Association 0274 126 103 ![endif]--

PRO – TIP
To write down your personal notes is a very good way of improving. The previous Lesson on Pitching, when you are learning your gears, write down the distance of each gear.
When you practice hitting 20 balls with your 8 iron find the average distance, then write it down. This becomes your standard length. Do the same with all your clubs. When you play a strange course, having your list of distances will be a great help in club selection.
When-ever I give a Lesson I write it down for my “Rising Stars!!” for them to take away & hopefully add to. Every week watching the world stars the first thing they do when they are walking after the tee shot is pull out their personal notes & say “what do I know about the next shot ??”
Keep Well & Stay Safe
Good Luck & Good Golfing.
